About the Land
You will be hunting on approximately 3400 acres, a working cattle and wildlife ranch located 12 miles west of Orland, California. It lies north-west of Black Butte Lake in the foothills of Glenn and Tehama Counties. The elevation ranges from 500 to 800 feet with open oaks mixed with native brushes.
About our Land Management
We are managing for Black Tail bucks and wild pig hunting. This has been accomplished by taking only a very limited percentage of the game.
About our Hunts
Quality is our guideline. All hunts are guided with no more than two or three hunters on the ranch at one time. The ranch is jeep accessible for enjoyment and fun hunting. Most bucks and pigs can be spotted from the jeep. Generally you will see a lot of game and hopefully have a successful hunt. But as you know hunting varies from day to day. Sorry, no guarantees.
About Accommodations and our Services
If you desire to camp, Buckhorn Campground at Black Butte Lake has nice campgrounds within one-half mile of the entrance to the ranch. For reservations call toll free 1-877-444-6777. Orland also has three motels: Orland Inn (530)865-7632, Orlanda Inn (530)865-4162, and Amber Light Inn (530)865-7655.
Our service includes a guided jeep hunt on the ranch with every possible effort taken to try to get you a chance to encounter exceptional game. After the game is taken, we will field dress, measure and weigh it. A cold storage locker will be lined up to cool the game at the hunter's expense if you so desire.
You Bring
Current California hunting license, a California "B" zone buck tag, pig tag, bobcat tag, dove stamp, duck stamps, or whichever is necessary for your hunt. Also, please be sure to bring a shotgun, rifle or bow, a sack lunch and hunting attire. Leather boots and long pants are required for your own protection. Make sure you have clothing for hot or cold weather as conditions may vary.
